Rolf C. Hagen Inc.

Rolf C. Hagen began acquiring bird seeds from the prairies in Western Canada with the intention of exporting them back to Germany, where he had established contacts. This was the initial stage of his new venture before expanding his business into a diverse pet supplies manufacturer. During the past fifty years, the Hagen Group of Companies was able to export its business from Canada to the international market. Its customers include small and local pet stores in Canada and the United States and publicly owned "box stores" such as Petsmart and Petco. Its global head office is located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and was completed in June 2006. Rolf C. Hagen died of a heart attack on 22 October 2011.

James Bay Project - In 1971 Phase I of the project cost $13.7 billion and entailed massive diversions of water from the Eastmain, Opinaca and Caniapiscau rivers to dammed reservoirs on La Grande Rivière, increasing the average flow of La Grande Rivière from 1,700 to 3,300 m3/s. A tiered spillway, three times the height of Niagara Falls, was blasted from the bedrock. Canadian General Electric Company and Marine Industries are the contractors for the construction of the James Bay Electric Power Generating Plant and had a coalition agreement.

Churchill Falls Project - One of the largest engineering projects in Canadian history, Churchill Falls was completed 18 months ahead of schedule, producing its first power on the evening of Dec. 6, 1971. As one of the largest underground power generating projects in the world, the Churchill Falls site produces 34 terawatt hours of energy per year - roughly one per cent of the world's hydroelectric power, according to Nalcor's website. CANADIAN GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY Canadian General Electric Company are the contractors for the construction of the Churchill Falls Electric Power Generating Plant.

James Edward Lyng CA was engaged to create a field payroll system to simplify the handling of the workers salaries on site, and was awarded the contract for the duration of the construction of the power plant.

Shell Canada

James Edward Lyng CA was engaged to create an accounting reporting system for the newly created gas outlet stations In the year requested was a period prior to the introduction of computers, and the use of punch cards was the method employed to machine generate the accounting records. The system was designed where daily data was recorded, prepared from which a cut out page was placed over the information and then only allowed the totals and the account numbers required for reporting. A daily tape recording of the recapped numbers was made and the monthly tape was forwarded to the head office where the data punch cards were made from the information received and then processed to produce the financial reports required. The project was known as DATA SCRIPT. Once successful and the system was running, Shell Canada continued the use of the system.

At the formation of IEI Inc James Edward Lyng CA, was appointed as independent accountant for the preparation of its financial statements and its required corporate tax returns.

AVRO

After earning the right to build the Arrow, Avro became a dominant force in Canadian aerospace and the economy at large. By 1957, Avro employed more than 20,000 people, making it one of the largest companies in the country. With plans to build everything from jetliners to cameras that could photograph speeding airplanes, Avro drew major investment from the government and its own employees. Confidence in the company — and Canada's aerospace industry was soaring.

James Edward Lyng, CPA was employed by A.V. Roe from 1960 to 1963 as Internal Auditor of their Quebec Subsidiaries which specialized in steel products. During his employment he was encouraged by the Toronto management to continue participating in the matters of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
